At 75 pages, this was my first “long” children’s book. I wrote it in 3 months, researching in the evenings and writing every Friday. After researching and writing about these truly amazing women, I felt quite close to them all. This book was nominated for a Hackmatack award in Atlantic Canada, which was awesome. I gave lots of book talks and went to a fantastic awards ceremony in Moncton, New Brunswick. It was so heartwarming to meet so many passionate readers.
I think The Women’s Hall of Fame series is an excellent collection for girls and young women. How wonderful to showcase excellent role models in fields in which women are underrepresented!
